FAQ

Answers to thecommon questions.

Everything you need to know about LitInboxes: what it is, how it works, and whether it fits your sending.

Getting started

What is LitInboxes?

LitInboxes is an email deliverability monitoring platform. It watches the DNS records, blocklists, DMARC reports and provider reputation behind your sending domain, and tells you when something changes.

How do I get started?

Add a domain and the first scan runs immediately: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS and BIMI records, blocklist status for the domain and its mail servers, and reputation data. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.

Do I need to change my DNS to use LitInboxes?

Only for DMARC reports. Monitoring your records, blocklists and reputation needs nothing but the domain name. To have LitInboxes read your DMARC aggregate reports, point the rua address in your DMARC record at the per-domain address it gives you.

Does LitInboxes send email for me?

No. LitInboxes monitors the domain you send from, whatever you send with. It is not an email service provider and does not replace one.

Which languages are supported?

The app and this site are available in English and Brazilian Portuguese.

What LitInboxes monitors

What does deliverability monitoring include?

DNS record checks (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, BIMI), blocklist and reputation monitoring, DMARC aggregate and forensic report ingestion, Google Postmaster Tools data, bounce and complaint history, and AI spam analysis of your content.

How often are my domains checked?

Every 6 hours per domain. Alerts fire on the change rather than on the schedule, so you hear about a new blocklist listing or an edited DNS record instead of receiving a report you have to read.

How many blocklists do you check?

8 high-signal blocklists on every plan, including Spamhaus ZEN and DBL, Barracuda, SpamCop and CBL. Pro adds 16 more for 24 in total.

How do alerts work?

Email alerts are on every plan. Slack, Discord and webhook alerts are on Pro. Alerts fire when a monitored signal changes state, not on a fixed digest schedule.

Does LitInboxes read my DMARC reports?

Yes, aggregate and forensic reports, on every plan. Point the rua and optionally the ruf address in your DMARC record at the per-domain addresses LitInboxes gives you, and the reports are parsed into a source-by-source view of what passes and fails.

What does the spam score check analyze?

Your content is scored with Rspamd, the open-source filter many mail servers run, rule by rule. An AI layer then explains which rules fired and what to change.

How does email verification work?

A syntax, MX and SMTP cascade: the address format is validated, the domain is checked for mail servers, and the mailbox is probed without sending anything. Catch-all domains are reported as such rather than guessed at.

Free tools

Are the free tools really free?

Yes. The SPF, DKIM and DMARC generators, the SPF flattener, the email header analyzer, the email health check and the blocklist checker all run without an account and without a quota.

Which free tools are available?

Seven: an SPF record generator, a DKIM record generator, a DMARC record generator, an SPF flattener, an email header analyzer, an email health check and a blocklist checker.

Is there a free email deliverability test?

The free email health check is the closest thing. It reads your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and checks common DKIM selectors. It does not send a seed message, so it does not report inbox placement.

What do the free tools not do that a paid plan does?

The tools answer a question once, right now. A plan answers it every 6 hours, keeps the dated history, reads your DMARC reports, and tells you when the answer changes.

Plans and billing

Is there a free trial or a free plan?

There is a 14-day free trial and no free plan. The trial starts without a credit card and nothing is charged unless you pick a paid plan. One trial per account.

How is pricing structured?

A flat monthly subscription per plan: $14 for Starter, $49 for Growing and $99 for Pro, or $140, $490 and $990 billed annually.

How many domains can I monitor?

One on Starter, five on Growing and fifty on Pro.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing is charged. The trial expires and the account drops to its unsubscribed limits until you pick a plan. Because no card is taken to start it, there is nothing to cancel.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, from your billing settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Comparisons

How is LitInboxes different from a DMARC platform like EasyDMARC or dmarcian?

Those tools do DMARC well and stop there. LitInboxes reads DMARC reports and also watches blocklists, DNS record drift, Google Postmaster reputation and list quality, from $14/mo. There is a side-by-side comparison page for each of them.

How is LitInboxes different from a spam tester like GlockApps or Unspam?

A spam tester tells you what was true when you ran the test. LitInboxes re-checks the domain every 6 hours and alerts you when something changes between tests. Neither replaces the other outright.

Do you offer white-label reports or per-client logins?

No. Every member of a workspace sees every domain in it, shared reports carry LitInboxes branding, and reselling under your own brand is not supported. If you need client-scoped access or white-label reporting, LitInboxes is not the right tool.
